 | Jul 31, 2007 - Yes I'm alive....and Hot Tub 2K7 is just around the corner! | Spitfire |
| | Hey everyone!
Well, a lot of time has passed since my last update and although I have plenty to talk about, today I'm just going to focus on the hot tub party. For those of you who aren't part of the
online social phenomenon known as Facebook, the official dates for Tub2K7 this year are August 17th and 18th.
The rumours are true...this may well be the very last hot tub party hosted by myself, so lets make it a good one! As always, all previous hot tub party attendees are invited, and
friends are always welcome so long as you can vouch for them, and introduce them to me first!
MUSIC....the ftp site has been set up and is ready to accept contributions. This systems has always worked GREAT in the past, and its just one of the many ways YOU can contribute
to making this party the best it has ever been. Please feel free to upload any of your favorite party music, BUT PLEASE PUT YOUR NAME IN THE FILENAME. If history repeats itself,
we will likely receive way more music than we have time to play it, so by labelling the mp3s with your name, we can make sure we don't end up 'trimming' out all of one person's contributions.
The ftp site is up and running now, and by tonight I will dump in the previous year's submissions, so if you'd like (and your ftp client allows) you can simply copy music from the other years into
this one to save time. But enough talk already, here's the login info:
FTP to Rblords.com, Username: hottub Password: 2k7 (all lower case)
Upload away!
More details about the party to follow, VERY soon....check back often!

 | Apr 18, 2007 - RBlords employs state-of-the-art spam blocking technologies... | Spitfire |
| | Haha, okay....maybe not completely state-of-the-art, but RBlords is now employing spam-blocking technology PERIOD. Specifically greylisting...and its working like a charm so far as I've
managed to cut down my 100+ spam mails a day to 0. I'm sure some will slip through, but for those of you who use RBlords mail (especially those using the mail client) - I'm sure
you will be pleasantly surprised!
This was just a quick update...not much else new, except that I picked up Police tickets the other day! Aaaand Roger Waters tickets of course. Woohoo!

 | Mar 27, 2007 - What? An update? On RBlords?? WTF?!? | Spitfire |
| | You know, I considered freezing this site and abandoning it forever - leaving it as a testament to the greatest internet legacy of our time. But then I reconsidered....partially from the surprising
amount of nagging I was getting, but also because I just can't let things go. So here we are.
Now, whats new? I've recently become addicted to Facebook, which is lame - I know - but so are you! Okay maybe that wasn't polite, I'm sorry. Anyhow join up and
be my friend, my name is Claytoris Monstahbahlz (of course).
Now...I've been to a few concerts since my last update, most notably Roger Hodgson of Supertramp - who put on a very intimate and good show at TCU place, and just recently Eric Clapton with
Robert Cray as an opening band.
I have to say, Eric Clapton seriously blew me away. Although not my absolute favorite guitarist, I've always enjoyed his style and his music - and it was quite simply something else to see it performed 15 feet away from you. His technical guitar playing ability is simply amazing, and although
some critisize him for just 'going through the motions' lately (including myself), I must say that it really didn't matter at all. It was also a bonus to see Doyle Bramhall II out on tour with Clapton, as I was too lazy to check the lineup prior to the show and had assumed I would be seeing Andy Fairweather-Low on 2nd guitar. Doyle is always a
pleasure to listen to AND watch (he plays his strat left handed, but strung right-handed...so he has to strum from the bottom UP).

OH...almost forgot about the New Years party this year. There are pictures here for those who are interested. It was a pretty small get-together this year, thats for sure - but was still a great time!
Dog Pound has left us for a 5 month 'hiatus' in London, England where he has become a fashion model and spends most of his days tanning and drinking spiced vodka cocktails in his backyard. Blue4130 has just finished up his schooling in Ontario and should be back in Saskatoon tonight - and hopefully sticking around for the summer too! Soul_D is back into school
and says it has been kicking his ass. Thats my very breif friend update....I'm really quite out of the loop so I don't have much more to say than that.
Oh, and congrats go out to Angie for her new job! And to Cassie for HER new job in Regina (booooooo!!!).
I have been putting a fair bit of thought into the future of the great Hot Tub party which occurs every year at my place in early-mid august. Although I haven't set a date yet, I am expecting this to likely be the last one I have. Why? Well, its just a really huge thing to organize and even
though I love seeing everyone come out for it - I'm getting old and its wearing on me!! I'm sure somebody (Soul_D) may take it over again, if he is able to. Anyhow, do plan to be around for it - I'll announce the date sometime in May so watch for that. As this is being planned as the last of
my hot tub parties, it will certainly be a big one. Hellsh0k has agreed to show this year, and bring 2 kegs of beer. I told him that if he did this, I'd 'cater' the party with free pizza. Soul_D has been collecting
some pretty wild party gear including a very neat green laser machine. There has even been talk of a possible live band. In any event, I am expecting to actually get charged by the police this year so there may be a $5 cover. But for free pizza and free beer and free hottubs? Can you argue with that?
Anyhow, keep that in mind. In the meantime my plans for the summer entail spending a lot of time at the lake. I can already picture it!
Chao!

 | Dec 03, 2006 - Catching up | Spitfire |
| | Well, this has probably been a record breaking lapse between updates. I'm afraid this may be a sign that Rappablords has fallen from its golden pedestal of up-to-date news
coverage. Or perhaps there has been no news over the past few months to report on?? Don't believe that for a second!
First off, the SECOND houseboating trip of 2006 took place in late september with an (almost) all new crew. Smaller boat, and late in the season - this trip had a much different feel
to it but as far as I know everybody had a blast. I know that I did - and here are the pictures. I've just added
some extras so check them out even if you've already seen them.
There was also another 'Guy Night Out' over rememberance day this year, which was a little bit smaller and under control (unfortunately). This time it took place at the coachman and
there were no pictures taken - that I know of. It was a pretty good time, and I had the good fortune to play foosball against Michael Jackson and a scarey old lady who told me I had
really sexy wrists. Enough said.
Halloween came and went without a big party at my house this year...instead soul_d threw a party, and I spent a good portion of the night
skipping between parties, eventually ending up at the new renovated Whiskey Jacks. Good times indeed.
I suppose this would also be a good opportunity to announce the New Years party. As always everybody is invited, and you know the date! Blue4130 will
be joining us this year, and perhaps even mrp if we're lucky. Should be a really good time!
Really not much else to say!
